What is Black Friday? Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. Retail stores open before the crack of dawn (sometimes even on Thanksgiving) to offer a rush of discounted items. It is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. With the rise of internet sales, many stores take their deals online as well!
Black Friday Tips. Stores will have less on the shelves for two reasons 1.) to get the hype up, it REALLY is first come, first serve 2.) the economy.
- Think fast and furious – get there before the store opens, especially when talking about these major sales like Best Buy (known for Black Friday!)
- Take as many willing participants with you and divide and conquer. Use cell phones and split the list so you have a greater chance of getting the items you want.
- Organize – who are you shopping for, what have you bought?
- Wear comfortable shoes, layers – especially if waiting outside in a large line.
- Don’t go to bed or consider it a nap if you do. Nap thanksgiving afternoon and Friday afternoon.
- Check your budget – When shopping on a busy chaotic day like Black Friday, I would focus on a debit card and have enough cash in the bank – limit yourself
- Skip those coffee places. Bring a canister of coffee, and don’t waste time in those long coffee lines.
Cyber Monday Tips. This is a great day to shop to avoid crowds, stay in your PJs or make sure that the stock (the amount of items you need/want) are still available. Saves gas, saved the hassle. Most stores offer discount codes and FREE S&H.
